Position Title: Director of Innovation, Digital Learning and Public Relations
Job Summary:
The Director of Innovation, Digital Learning and Public Relations provides leadership/support to all staff members and the administrative team in facilitating, implementing, and evaluating instructional technology, initiatives and activities to improve instruction and student achievement across all district classrooms. This role will also handle all public relation needs, social media and website design to promote district wide initiatives.

Qualifications:
Pennsylvania Department of Education Instruction II certification
Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience
Highly proficient with integrating various instructional technologies into classroom instruction
Instructional Technology Specialist or STEAM Certification preferred
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide staff leadership to promote and ensure understanding of the instructional technology goals of the district.
  2. Provide expertise and support integrating technology into the K-12 curriculum.
  3. Provide expertise in designing, implementing and evaluating effective professional development for instructional staff.
  4. Provide leadership in the implementation of software and internet based resources and evaluation so that all students have access to technology based programs.
  5. Provide leadership that enhances the integration and use of instructional technology into teaching and learning that meets all state and national standards for educational technology in learner centered environments.
  6. Collaborate with teachers and the technology department to create effective systems that support technology in the classroom.
  7. Stay current with research and trends concerning the effectiveness of new technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI) that impacts instruction and student achievement.
  8. Provide support to K-12 STEAM teachers and design a vertical curricula pathway that ensures students exposure and success.
  9. Design cross curricula activities that support technology integration into all classrooms.
  10. Research and conduct “Best Practice” technology instruction using ISTE standards as a guide.
  11. Redesign any policy that needs updated to support proper technology use in district classrooms
  12. Coordinates efforts for grant applications and disbursement of funds with the Director of Finance and Operations.
  13. Direct all public relation initiatives that support district wide goals.
  14. Direct all district social media accounts.
  15. Positively share all district wide initiatives that promote district success.
  16. Manage and update South Allegheny School District Website
  17. Ability to communicate effectively with students, administrators, staff, parents and community members.
Special Requirements:
Act 34, Act 151 Act 114 and all other district required clearances must be current
Possess a Pennsylvania Drivers license
